Media is biased about genders because they show men dominant and strong on the other hand, women are shown passive and a sexual object or a product by the media. In many TV programmes, advertisements or in newspapers, you can see men' s dominance. Masculinity is in many cultures, i mean that sometimes parents teach their boys to be violent or dominant and people do not find strange the media's attitude about gender differences.Masculinity is a pose, a performance, learned in our society and culture. For example in Tough Guise,Katz mention that media says that "kids killing kids" not that it is boys killing boys or girls but when a woman is violent, it is almost always an important part of the story. In addition, on televisions or films women is usually shown as desperate and men is shown as hero and dominant.
